This list is a forum for discussion related to using the port of GNU Emacs to the Windows operating systems. Feel free to ask and/or answer any questions related to the Emacs port to Windows, although questions regarding general use of Emacs should be directed to the Emacs Info files and the general Emacs news groups, such as comp.emacs and gnu.emacs.help. Announcements about new releases and bug fixes will be sent to this list. These announcements should be relatively infrequent, however. Another useful source of information about the port of GNU Emacs to Windows is the FAQ for the port: http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/windows/ntemacs.html Try looking at the FAQ first before sending questions to the list. To post a message to all the list members, send email to help-emacs-windows@gnu.org. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below.
Subscribing to help-emacs-windows
Subscribe to help-emacs-windows by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. This is a hidden list, which means that the list of members is available only to the list administrator. Your email address:   Your name (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
