From January to March 2021 the main importer of aluminum
and its manufactures in the region was Costa Rica with $170.1 million, followed by Guatemala with $31.5 million, then El Salvador with $25 million, followed by Honduras with $24.7 million, Panama with $16.5 million and finally Nicaragua with $9.3 million.Main Sellers
During the first three months of 2021, 33.21% of the value imported by Central America
came from China, 12.7% from Guatemala, 9.57% from the United States of America, 6.66% from Mexico, El Salvador with 4.55%, Costa Rica with 3% and 2.91% from Panama.
For the period from January to March of the last nine years, China is the market of origin of purchases that has grown the most, since in 2012 it represented 10.35% of the total value of regional purchases and in 2021 that proportion rose to 33.21%.Regional Business Upwards
Between the first half of 2021 and the same period in 2020, the value of imports rose by 11.04%, from $128 million in 2020 to $142 million in 2021.
