Cars and Motorcycles: Market Share in the Region

At the end of 2019, 32% of the vehicles circulating on the streets of Central America were of the brands Toyota, Nissan and Hyundai, while Honda, Suzuki, Kia, Isuzu, Mazda and Ford shared 25% of the total.
The report "Vehicles in Central America", from the Trade Intelligence Unit of CentralAmericaData collects the most updated information on the automotive market in Central American countries.

Regional Analysis by Type and Brand
At the end of the second half of 2019, 43% of the vehicles circulating in the region were automobiles, 32% motorcycles, 16% light cargo units, 5% heavy cargo and 3% buses.

When reviewing the figures of car type units, the interactive platform details that 46% of vehicles circulating are of the brand Toyota, Hyundai and Nissan. In the case of Mazda, Kia, Suzuki, Ford and Honda, account for 27% of the total.

The data shows that about 43% of the total number of motorcycles in the region are Honda, Bajaj, Yamaha and Italika. Other brands that have an important participation in the fleet of this type of vehicles are Suzuki, Yumbo, Jialing and Movesa.

Regarding the units of heavy load transport, details the report that International, Hino and Mack, monopolize 18% of the total in Central America. On the other hand, the brands Isuzu and Freightliner concentrate 25%.
