Electric Accumulators: Increase in First Quarter 2021

Guatemala continued to be the main importer in the region during the first quarter of 2021 with $15.7 million, in Central America there was an increase in purchases of 4.26%.

Variation of Imports by Market
During the first quarter of 2021, companies in Honduras, Costa Rica and Guatemala increased their purchases of electric accumulators from Mexican companies, reporting year-on-year variations of 35.5%, 5.2% and 0.9%, respectively.

In the case of El Salvador, Nicaragua and Panama, imports from Mexico decreased during the period in question, with variations of 1.8%, 0.5% and 3.8%, respectively, compared to the same period in 2020.

Guatemala, Main Buyer of Mexican Electric Accumulators
In the first three months of 2021, the main Central American buyer of electric accumulators to Mexico was Guatemala with $15.7 million, followed by Costa Rica with $10.4 million, El Salvador with $8.5 million, Panama with $8 million, followed by Honduras with $7.8 million and Nicaragua with $6.1 million.

More Mexican electric accumulators in Central America
Between the first three months of 2021 and the same period of 2020 the value imported by the countries of the region registered an increase of 4.26%, from $57 million to $59.5 million.
