Government Infrastructure: $140 Million in Investments

Last year, 12 environmental impact studies were submitted in Central American countries for construction projects of buildings to be used by government institutions, files that together amount to an estimated investment of $140 million.
The interactive platform "Construction in Central America", from CentralAmericaData's Business Intelligence Area, provides an updated list of public and private construction projects that have submitted environmental impact studies (EIA) to the respective institutions in each country.

Costa Rica is the country with the largest investment, with close to $73 million in projects for the construction of new buildings and the restoration of existing ones, corresponding to nine environmental impact studies submitted in 2020.

In Panama, two studies were presented for the construction of government infrastructure, which together amount to an investment of approximately $63 million. One of the projects is the construction of an institutional area that will house central government and customs offices.

In Guatemala, an EIA was submitted with an investment of approximately $3 million. The project consists of the construction of a 4-story office building with 3 basements.

CentralAmericaData has information on construction projects planned in all Central American countries, with details such as estimated investment, project timing and phases, supplies and equipment required during and after construction, water treatment, parking structure, among others.
