Manufacturing Activity Keeps Rising

Explained again by the increase in production and sales, in November the Monthly Manufacturing Activity Index in the Dominican Republic increased 22% with respect to the same month in 2017.
The Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD) reported that manufacturing activity continued to rise during November. The index was 52.7 in September, 58.3 in October and 64.1 in November 2018, the highest level compared to the same period in 2015-2017.

In terms of IMAM's behavior according to the dimensions of companies, all company dimensions showed an increase in the Index. However, the behavior of the micro and small companies, which experienced the greatest growth, is highlighted.

Micro enterprises went from 53.9 to 67.5, while small enterprises went from 52.1 to 603. Medium enterprises went from 59.9 in October to 66.0 in November, while large enterprises went from 60.6 to 63.4 in the same period.

Regarding the variables analyzed, all variables showed increases: "sales volume" from 62.4 to 73.0; "production volume" from 61.9 to 68.0; "raw material inventories" from 59.6 to 62.0; "Employment" from 51.4 to 52.0.

Because of the increase in sales and production volumes, in October the Monthly Manufacturing Activity Index in the Dominican Republic grew 6% with respect to the same month in 2017.
The Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD) reported that the Monthly Manufacturing Activity Index (IMAM) increased from 52.7 in September to 58.3 in October 2018, which is mainly caused by the increase in the variables "sales volumes" and "production", although all variables increased in the referred month.

Due to an increase in production and sales, in August of this year the Monthly Index of Manufacturing Activity registered an increase of 15% with respect to the same month in 2017.
The Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD) reported that the Monthly Index of Manufacturing Activity (IMAM) increased slightly from 58.4 in July to 61.5 in August, remaining for the seventh consecutive month over the barrier of 50.0 and following the trend shown in previous years for this period.

Between the months of May 2017 and 2018, the Monthly Index of Manufacturing Activity in the Dominican Republic registered an increase of 6%, rising from 62.6 to 66.5.
