The Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic
(AIRD) reported that manufacturing activity continued to rise during November. The index was 52.7 in September, 58.3 in October and 64.1 in November 2018, the highest level compared to the same period in 2015-2017.
In terms of IMAM's behavior according to the dimensions of companies, all company dimensions showed an increase in the Index. However, the behavior of the micro and small companies, which experienced the greatest growth, is highlighted.
Micro enterprises went from 53.9 to 67.5, while small enterprises went from 52.1 to 603. Medium enterprises went from 59.9 in October to 66.0 in November, while large enterprises went from 60.6 to 63.4 in the same period.
Regarding the variables analyzed, all variables showed increases: "sales volume" from 62.4 to 73.0; "production volume" from 61.9 to 68.0; "raw material inventories" from 59.6 to 62.0; "Employment" from 51.4 to 52.0.
