Plans for New Airport Announced

In El Salvador, the Autonomous Executive Port Commission announced that in 2022 it will determine the management model for the Pacific Airport and in 2023 it will begin construction.
Currently, the Feasibility Study is being developed by the International Consortium PEYCON - ALBEN 4000.

June 25, 2021. On Thursday, June 24, our head, Federico Anliker, attended the Economic Commission of the new Legislative Assembly, to present the flagship logistics projects of the Government of President Nayib Bukele, which the autonomous agency is executing.

He began his presentation by emphasizing to the deputies that CEPA has a highly committed work team with the projects and, certainly, we will need the support of the Assembly to complete them. The projects he presented were:

Pacific International Airport.

Currently, a Feasibility Study is being developed by the International Consortium PEYCON - ALBEN 4000, which includes:

Market Study
Technical Study
Environmental Study
Social Impact Study
Economic-Financial Study
Design of the economic-financial model

The next steps to be taken are:

December 2021, reception of the Feasibility Study for the construction of the Pacific Airport.
In 2022, determine the management model and design of the air terminal.
In 2023, start of construction of the airport.

Tender for Railway Transportation in El Salvador

A tender was announced to execute the studies that will be used to determine the feasibility of the development of the railroad network for cargo and passengers, included in the Pacific Train Project.
In a press conference, the Autonomous Executive Port Commission (Cepa) informed that through the technical cooperation in the bidding process, an

Airport Construction: Companies Pre-qualify

In El Salvador, 30 companies were prequalified to participate in the international competition for the elaboration of the feasibility study for the construction of the Pacific Airport.
A total of 44 national and foreign companies expressed interest and also completed the information required to participate in the international public bidding, informed the Executive Autonomous Port Commission (CEPA).
Mixed Investment for Airport Modernization

A public-private partnership would be the most efficient option for modernizing Guatemala's La Aurora International Airport, which urgently requires a strong investment in infrastructure.
The consulting firm Deloitte Tetra Tech was hired to prepare feasibility studies, with the aim of establishing contract models that could be applied to modernize the Guatemalan air terminal.
