Acisclo Valladares Urruela, Minister of Economy, said that "
... within the meetings with the Legislative authorities, the ideal deadline (to discuss the initiative) is before the end of the ordinary session at the Congress on May 15. The project includes the 2 tracks that make up the Escuintla-Puerto Quetzal road section of the Central American route identified as CA-9 South "A", complementary works and other infrastructure to elevate it to highway level, as well as the administration, management, maintenance and operation of the Project, which guarantees the services of traffic with at least the required quality, reliability, continuity and safety.
