Between the third quarter of 2019 and 2020, the exported value of frozen shrimp
and prawns registered a decrease of 6.42%, going from $219.4 million to $205.3 million.Exports by Country
In September 2020, the main exporter of frozen shrimp and prawns in Central America
continued to be Honduras, with $160.3 million, followed by Nicaragua with $24 million, Panama with $12.9 million, Costa Rica 4.9% and Guatemala with $3.9 million each.Destination of Exports
In the third quarter of 2020, 33.87% of the value exported from Central America was destined for Taiwan, 20.16% for the United Kingdom, 8.69% for the Netherlands, 7.60% for Germany, 6.92% for the United States and 4.59% for Mexico.
