Deprecation of District in Czech Republic edit

Hi, you created this change. Why? I reverted it. All the Czech republic has this system of Districts, so i don't understand your change. Skim (talk) 19:37, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Skim:, Mikulov (Q682544) also has located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) = Q89085218, and Q89085218:located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) = Břeclav District (Q582488). Referring to District follows through Q89085218 by transitivity, and there is no need to set district in Mikulov (Q682544) own.--Artsiom91 (talk) 20:03, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Artsiom91: So this thing isn't simple. 1) In all Czech Republic hierarchy is this in this way. So please don't change without discussion with Czech community. 2) In classification system of NUTS & LAU is this right. 3) Hierarchy with Czech municipality with expanded powers (Q7819319) is another system of classification 4) You cannot set this by deprecation, i don't think that's good choice. Skim (talk) 21:19, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
BTW I understand your version, but i don't know how we can deal with it, now Skim (talk) 21:21, 25 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

Symbols of Estonian cities edit

Hi! In Estonia only municipalites have flag and coats of arms. Some cities had these symbols formerly when they were municipalities while remaining coextensive settlements don't have these symbols. Therefore this data should go to municipality item. Symbols that you added to settlement Tartu (Q13972) (diff) are actually for larger municipality Tartu City (Q42307965) and were already present in the latter item. Similary, Rapla (Q215971) does not have flag/coats of arms, instead symbols you added are actually for former Rapla City (Q44951431) and/or Rapla Rural Municipality (Q2068203). 2001:7D0:81FD:BC80:EDE6:AD62:A116:F265 08:30, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

OK, I marked these claims with deprecated rank. Artsiom91 (talk) 08:38, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Why? This rank is for statements that appear erroneously in some source or were thought to be true at some point (see Help:Deprecated rank), but in this case these statements are just in wrong item. I think these statements should be just removed from settlement items to avoid confusion. 2001:7D0:81FD:BC80:EDE6:AD62:A116:F265 08:53, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
Some sources, for example eswiki (es:Tartu, es:Rapla), really contain these symbols. I can remove data, but later somebody can add it from another wiki again. Deprecated rank eliminates this. Artsiom91 (talk) 09:01, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
In these Wikipedia articles it just appears to be unclear if they are about the settlement or about the municipality. I believe this should be sorted out in these articles. Wikipedia isn't a proper source anyway (see Help:Sources#Different types of sources). Wikipedia articles often contain data about related (e.g. more narrow) topics anyway. Therefre aren't users importing data from Wikipedia supposed to always check if the data they import actually matches the target item? Currently it probably isn't evident to most users why these deprecated statements are there. 2001:7D0:81FD:BC80:EDE6:AD62:A116:F265 09:15, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply
I have added qualifiers with reason of deprecated rank and links to items for which symbols are proper. Artsiom91 (talk) 09:24, 28 February 2023 (UTC)Reply

Noble families edit

Hi! What makes you think that any of the noble families whose descriptions you changed are Belarusian? Heroldicas (talk) 09:55, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Reply

Okay, now I understand. Thank you for your explanation.
I don't know Belarusian well, but I'm trying to learn it. My family used to live in what is now Belarus, but I am Polish.
In Poland, the term "Pole" refers to the nationalities of all nations of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. I.e. not in terms of ethnicity, but in terms of choice of nationality. My family, despite its Russian roots, chose Polishness, like almost all noble families from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
Thank you for your answer and have a nice day! Heroldicas (talk) 10:06, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
And one more thing - I will undo all my edits that I have made. Heroldicas (talk) 10:07, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
My family, despite its Russian roots, chose Polishness - this is my mistake again. My family has Ruthenian roots, not Russian. Google translator did this. Heroldicas (talk) 11:40, 23 February 2024 (UTC)Reply
