Motivation edit
The Joshua Project website provides statistical information on the ethnic groups of the world, including population size, countries found in, indigenous status, primary language(s), primary religion, percentage of adherents to Christianity, and other information. This property would be a useful addition to Wikidata to identify ethnic groups and link to information about them. UWashPrincipalCataloger (talk) 07:43, 16 September 2021 (UTC)

- Oppose given the conflation Albanians (Q179248) used as sample #1. To avoid this, the property probably shouldn't be added to items are about the population of a given country or region. --- Jura 06:03, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
- Weak support I have some concerns about the accuracy of the data on this site which is noted in the site's disclaimer statements. It also seems like the site is more concerned with missionary work than the accuracy of its data (for instance: progress scale; est. workers needed). Leaning towards weak support. --Pteropotamus (talk) 10:53, 20 September 2021 (UTC)
- Weak oppose I share concerns expressed by Pteropotamus about the accuracy of the data, and also have some ethical reservations as to how people are portrayed by this website (the Progress Scale especially). The nature of Joshua Project/Frontier Ventures and many of their sources (Protestant/Evangelical Christian missionary nonprofits asking for donations, with significant business interests in the data they're publishing) concerns me as well. I don't think it's necessarily advertising, but something about it gives me pause when looking at the data. Not sure what Albanians (Q179248) is conflating exactly, Jura. Can you elaborate on your comment? --Crystal Clements, University of Washington Libraries (talk) 19:31, 21 September 2021 (UTC)
- Support I don't think minor moral disagreements should be relevant. Wikidata should focus on connecting ids. Germartin1 (talk) 20:59, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
