"Data models" in Wikidata are the structures in Wikidata which users should follow when uploading data. For example, Wikidata marks the authors of works with P50, author (P50), the property which Wikidata has arbitrarily numbered as 50. To share information in Wikidata the user has to mark all of their information with Wikidata's own property labels.
The set of recommended property labels for a topic is the data model.
