Collaborate with colleagues. Special edition SpringyCamp training newsletter late summer 2021

With so much going on in the past year for libraries, we’ve expanded SpringyCamp this year to 4 different themed tracks, each on a different day. SpringyCamp is our all-online user conference and this year we are bringing in presenters from across the globe* with presentations from Australia, the UK, and Canada. To say we are excited about this year’s lineup is an understatement. We are beyond impressed with what you, our Springy Community, has been doing and are honored to showcase these presentations.

Choose to attend as many tracks as you would like. Use the links below to register for each day/track individually. Not going to be around? We’ll post recordings to our Official SpringyCamp 2021 guide after camp is over.

*Please note, in order to accommodate our international presenters, sessions are offered at a variety of times. We know some of the times might not be ideal for your work, so we encourage you to watch the recordings.

What to expect at SpringyCamp:

  • SpringyCamp is a User Conference, with a fun camplike vibe that is designed to be both fun and informative.
  • Presentations represent overviews of projects that clients have done at their libraries. We do not offer training or instruction during these sessions, but attendees are encouraged to ask questions.
  • Each track runs for a set amount of time and individual presentation lengths vary; attendees are encouraged to attend an entire track rather than target a single presentation. If you wish to only attend a specific presentation, we suggest waiting for the recording.
  • Interaction makes camp more fun, so please participate in the Springshare Lounge and ask questions during the Q&A portions of presentations.
  • All sessions will have live AI transcription via Otter.ai.
  • All presenters are volunteers and we greatly appreciate their time and effort putting together these presentations.
  • There is a zero-tolerance policy for trolling and rude behavior / comments.

New Employee Onboarding

New Project Published! SpringyU’s newest project is New Employee Onboarding and uses parts of LibAnswers, LibCal, LibWizard, and LibStaffer to make the administrative work of new employee onboarding less tedious — allowing you to focus your efforts bringing the new employee up to speed.

Work through the project by watching short videos and accomplishing related tasks at your own pace. As each institution’s onboarding process may differ, you may not need each piece of this project or subscribe to all apps used. This project is designed to highlight ways to streamline workflows using apps that you already subscribe to and take advantage of functionality internally that you might not currently be using.
