Access Policy: Ruth Lilly Law Library
* The building is locked on weekends, and at that time, access to the library is limited to authorized McKinney Crimson Card holders. Members of the Bar; IUPUI faculty, staff, and students; and McKinney alumni may

At library closing, all persons, except those authorized with 24-hour access, must exit the building. (Faculty and staff are authorized 24-hour access.) This will be enforced by CSC security personnel. With some exceptions for holidays and breaks, the library is closed:
- Between 12 a.m.- 7:30 a.m. Monday through Thursday
- Between 6 p.m. Friday - 9 a.m. Saturday
- Between 6 p.m. Saturday - 10 a.m. Sunday
- Between 10 p.m. Sunday - 7:30 a.m. Monday
A security guard is on duty to admit those with previously scheduled appointments.

All library users must abide by the policies of the Law Library and those of Inlow Hall.
Library users are expected to work quietly. Cell phones must be turned off or set to vibrate, and phone/video conversations are not permitted in the library.
Damage to Library Property
Writing, underlining, or otherwise mutilating library materials will results in charges. The destruction or damage of library materials and property is prohibited.
Food & Drink
- Please use spill-proof containers for all food and beverages brought into the library.
- Notify the Circulation Desk of any food or beverage spills.
- No beverages are permitted in the computer labs or the Rare Book Room.
Personal Items
No items may be left unattended on tables or study carrels. Without notice, library staff may remove items found unattended.
Photographers & Videographers
People interested in using the library premises for photos or videos must seek prior permission from library administration. Commercial-related entities must contact the IUPUI Office of Communications & Marketing, 317-274-7711, to obtain approval before commencing work. This approval will be granted on a limited basis solely at the University’s discretion.

Fire Alarms
Fire drills occur periodically. Everyone must leave the library when the fire alarm sounds.

Tornado–Shelter in Place
IUPUI provides shelter in place information for the entire campus.
Emergency Phones
There are emergency phones on the second and third floors of the library. Each of these phones is located on a column near the center of the room along the main corridor, just to the south of the hallway that leads to the elevator. These phones connect directly to IUPUI Police.
