The urology residency program at Indiana University School of Medicine Department of Urology offers a broad spectrum of urology experience in a five-year program that includes six months of general surgery intern training. This program is consistently ranked in the top 20 in the nation by the Doximity Residency Navigator and US News & World Report Ranking.
Urology residents gain experience at six training sites (five on the downtown Indianapolis campus) focusing on clinical training and research. They also spend time improving teaching, writing and speaking skills to further their careers. Residents also have the option to enhance their skills through a global experience as well as participate in in-person and online grand rounds lectures.
In 2022, the resident complement increased from four to five per year in view of the number of faculty and surgical volume.
