Armenian Challenge
September 1, 2018 - September 20, 2018

Welcome!

  • What is this?: After the success of the 2016 Castles Challenge and as part of the Quality content program of Wikimedia Armenia, which includes a series of international collaborations, Wikimedia Armenia and Wikimedia España organize a new edition activity around Wikipedia with the aim of contributing to the dissemination of culture, history, heritage or any other aspect of both countries. The contest consists of creating, translating or improving articles in any language; if you are in Armenia, you have to edit about Spain, and if you are in Spain, it is about editing on Armenia.
  • When?: The writing contest will run from 00:01 (CET UTC+01:00) September 1, 2018 until 23:59 (CET UTC+01:00) September 20, 2018. So, only the work done between these dates will be included in the contest.
  • How? (IMPORTANT!): The rules are as follows:
  • +1 point for each +1,000 bytes of added content.
  • +1 point for each new article started.
  • Only articles whose size is 10,000 bytes or more and have 5 different references will be evaluated.
  • Automatic translations or pages whose content is mainly templates, such as lists, will not be valid.
  • Who?: Due to the legal characteristics of the prizes, only editors from Spain and Armenia (+18 years old) can participate. You only need a named account and sign up on the Participants section.
If you are a new editor of Wikipedia, first of all, Welcome! We suggest that you take a look at Wikipedia:Translation and the Introduction. That will make it easier to get going! When you start writing, the Manual of Style might be of help. All these pages are available in many languages. Also, nowadays it is much easier to contribute to Wikipedia than ever before and you don't really have to learn any code! Please have a look at Wikipedia:VisualEditor for more information.
