Overview edit

This is a hub page for all design research conducted for the IP Editing: Privacy Enhancement and Abuse Mitigation/CheckUser Improvements project. They focus on the use of the CheckUser tool in our projects, from data on their use to investigations on CheckUser workflows, with the ultimate goal of supporting development on the extension.

List of studies edit

English Wikipedia SPI cases, May 2019
This study looked at all new cases opened on English Wikipedia's Sockpuppet Investigations page in the month of May, 2019. This was done in order to make an assessment of CheckUser workloads, requests, and the reporting pipeline for the project with the greatest number of local CheckUsers.

CheckUser workflow documentation
Based on interviews and observation with current CheckUsers and stewards, we identified five key stages of CheckUser use and identify key points for improvement.
