Edits needed on foundation wiki
Hi. At, the first 3 external links lead to pages that were moved and then deleted. The content was merged to mw:Help:Extension:Kartographer, which is already linked, so the only thing that is needed is removing the dead links. Thanks, --DannyS712 (talk) 07:10, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
Also the 'Maps/Wikimedia Maps/2015-2017/Tile server implementation' link is to a page that doesn't exist --DannyS712 (talk) 07:33, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
@DannyS712: Thank you - I will ping the folks responsible for that content and ask for an update. Thanks! --Gregory Varnum (Wikimedia Foundation) [he/him] (talk) 17:08, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

Terms of Use in Russian
There is a sentence in the Russian translation of Terms of Use: "необходимые для поддержания и развития многоязычных вики-проектов и их отдельных разделов (перечисленных здесь) и прочих начинаний, служащих этой миссии." The link from 'здесь' (Russian for 'here') doesn't work: it's a red link. ParticipantOfTheEncyclopedia (talk) 17:14, 25 July 2019 (UTC)
Fixed. --Kaganer (talk) 23:35, 6 July 2020 (UTC)

“other material […], to which you hold the copyright”. The relative clause here is defining and should not be separated with a comma. 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 16:34, 2 December 2019 (UTC)
Sorry, that comma closed the apposition starting with "or". 1234qwer1234qwer4 (talk) 21:43, 3 August 2020 (UTC)

Redirect from donation
FYI I arrived at the page from a notice inserted into an English Wikipedia article which read "Last chance: Please don't scroll away". The correct link should ostensibly be to the redirected page but to update it I have no idea where the notice actually exists. DAVilla (talk) 15:22, 31 December 2019 (UTC)

Map terms of use: User agent policy impossible to comply with in the browser
@DTankersley (WMF): The Wikimedia map tile server sets this header: access-control-allow-headers: accept, x-requested-with, content-type. But the Map terms of use require setting the User-Agent header, which that CORS header doesn't allow. Additionally, browser JS can't set the User-Agent header at all. I think Api-User-Agent should be added to that CORS header, and the policy should require either User-Agent or Api-User-Agent be set. Thanks! --SixTwoEight (talk) 16:01, 18 March 2020 (UTC)
@SixTwoEight: Thanks for raising it, I'm moving this discussion to so this can be investigated and actionized. Please let me know if you have any questions. --MSantos (WMF) (talk) 14:28, 30 March 2020 (UTC)
foundation:Wikimedia official marks/Word mark creation#Alternative type faces
For the time being it mentions: "Chinese: AR PL UMing", well, there's an ongoing discussion on zhwiki: zh:Wikipedia:互助客栈/其他#提议将简体维基百科等的_logotype_换成思源宋体 to request changing it to use Source Han Serif (思源宋体/思源宋體) (d:Q29167853), another SIL OFL licensed CJK font powered by Adobe and Google, maybe we should also alter texts of this foundationwiki page? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 03:31, 29 May 2020 (UTC)
@Liuxinyu970226: Has there been resolution on the request to change? If they do change it officially, we can update it, but if it's still being discussed, probably best to wait. --Gregory Varnum (Wikimedia Foundation) [he/him] (talk) 17:59, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
@GVarnum-WMF: FWIW, changing font of zh-hant counterpart has been approved by their community, but not yet for zh-hans. And for other sinophone users based Wikipedias, they're still discussing. --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 12:56, 10 June 2020 (UTC)
@GVarnum-WMF: FYI: the change of zh-hans font is also approved but not configured on the cluster now. --Hamish 05:10, 28 June 2020 (UTC)
@GVarnum-WMF: ^^, are there any reason not to update so? --Liuxinyu970226 (talk) 04:52, 9 February 2021 (UTC)
Re: Resolution:Board Statement on Community Health (2020)
I just read this resolution, & after wading thru all of the iterations of "Whereas", I expected to find an actual statement of, well, something, only to find that the Board resolved:
that the Board of Trustees hereby approves a new statement on community health.
So, what is this new statement on community health? The Board resolution apparently forgot to state what it is, or even providing a link to what they have approved. (I'll forego any snark about imprecise thinking: I'm honestly curious about what the Board says on the subject.) -- Llywrch (talk) 08:20, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
@Llywrch: The statement is available here: Wikimedia Foundation Board noticeboard/May 2020 - Board of Trustees on Healthy Community Culture, Inclusivity, and Safe Spaces and linked from the Board resolution under References (which is generally how they format links in their resolutions). I will mention idea of linking within the resolution text as well. --Gregory Varnum (Wikimedia Foundation) [he/him] (talk) 17:57, 8 June 2020 (UTC)
Yes, linking it would be helpful. Thanks for the prompt reply. -- Llywrch (talk) 18:22, 8 June 2020 (UTC)

Resolution missing from list
wmf:Resolution:Appointing Kelly Battles to WMF Board is not listed on wmf:Resolutions; it should be added there. Unless it's known how this was missed, I'd recommend doing a scan over all resolutions to make sure that none are missing from the list. --Yair rand (talk) 05:48, 22 June 2020 (UTC)

Style issues in the "Friendly space policy" article
Friendly space policy has inconsistent and incorrect style; unspaced em dashes are used in some areas, while spaced hyphen-minuses are used in others. My suggestion to fix the page is to change both instances of "... at all venues and events - such as conferences, virtual events, and related social events - that this policy applies to ..." to "... at all venues and events—such as conferences, virtual events, and related social events—that this policy applies to ..." —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Swiftestcat (talk) 18:04, 25 September 2020

Translation error
In Italian version, section "14. Esoneri da responsabilità", the phrase "crea qualsiasi garanzia non espressamente dichiara in queste Condizioni d'uso" has to be changed in "crea qualsiasi garanzia non espressamente dichiarata in queste Condizioni d'uso". In fact the first word "dichiara" means "states", but as you can read in, the correct word is "stated" (in Italian "dichiarata"). --Daniele Pugliesi (talk) 20:58, 11 January 2021 (UTC)
Translations official text Universal Code of Conduct
To reach out to users around the globe, it would be helpful when the page with the official and unchangeable text of the Universal Code of Conduct, soon could offer the translation tool. Probably a disclaimer is necessary, that translation via the tool is not an official version. Thanks! JustB EU (talk) 12:16, 25 February 2021 (UTC)
Anonymity of donors over $50,000
There is no upper bound to this category of donation. Would very large donations be completely altruistic or like political party donations have ties to soliciting policy direction?
Minor issues with UCoC page
At there are three minor issues.
1. When I click the "Feedback" link, I am taken to a "View Source" version of the page, not to any sort of feedback or discussion page. Please fix with a redirect or some other solution.
2. The first text in section 3.3, "Content vandalism and abuse of the projects", is not a sentence, but it should be in order to maintain parallel structure and be a grammatical continuation of the second clause in the lead of section 3.
3. The phrase "People who identify with a certain sexual orientation or gender identity using distinct names or pronouns" lacks parallel structure with the sentences around it. – Jonesey95 (talk) 23:48, 5 April 2021 (UTC)

Clarifications on the cookie policy (regarding anonymous edits)
I think this may need to be discussed by WMF for changes to be approved, but I have a problem with this paragraph (emphasis mine):
Cookies are not required in order to read or edit the Wikimedia Sites. We use the information we receive from cookies and other locally-stored data technologies to make your experience with the Wikimedia Sites safer and better, to gain a greater understanding of user preferences and interactions with the Wikimedia Sites, and to generally improve our services. Cookies are required in order to login and for your edits to be associated to a user account; without cookies, your edits will be anonymous and unassociated with an account.
Since that non-registered edits are associated with the IP address, and certain IP address can be associated with a particular company or government (like this example), I think that it should be changed into something like this (edits are in boldtype):
Cookies are not required in order to read or edit the Wikimedia Sites. We use the information we receive from cookies and other locally-stored data technologies to make your experience with the Wikimedia Sites safer and better, to gain a greater understanding of user preferences and interactions with the Wikimedia Sites, and to generally improve our services. Cookies are required in order to login and for your edits to be associated to a user account; without cookies, your edits will be unassociated with an account. Instead, it will be associated with the IP address of your computer. In most cases this will only identify roughly the country or city where you made the edit, however in some cases (like inside a company) this may specifically identify the place where you made the edit.
