75. THANKS
We wish to thank those at the MIT Press who supported this radical and challenging project—particularly Doug Sery, who saw the potential of the project from the beginning and worked with the team of authors to help them complete it. We also thank Katie Helke Dokshina, the anonymous reviewers who offered their consideration and advice, and Noah Wardrip-Fruin, who worked with us as an editor of the Software Studies series. Finally, thanks go to Kathy Caruso for seeing the book through into print.
Many programs are considered in this book. Some of these we found,
some we wrote ourselves. A few programs are
in a different category: they were prompted by this book project,
but programmers who were not authors of the book worked on them.
Our thanks to Ben Fry for the second Processing port that was
discussed, to Stéphane Hockenhull for collaborating
with two of the authors on “threadbare” and
“thread,” and to Warren Sack for his Perl and Javascript ports, the first ports discussed in the book
and the ones that introduced us to the idea of porting
10 PRINT
as a way of better understanding it.
