Academia Koreana is Keimyung University’s international research institute for Korean studies. In order to provide a substantial basis for the discussion and mutual enrichment of Eastern and Western understanding of Korea, Academia Koreana encourages research on both traditional and contemporary Korean society and culture by publishing the quarterly journal Han’gukhak nonjip as well as the semi-annual journal Acta Koreana. Beginning in 2001, Academia Koreana has hosted the annual Academia Koreana International Conference (AKIC). The conference aims to contribute to the qualitative improvement of Korean studies by providing a forum for the presentation, discussion and debate of recent research in Korean studies.
