List of steps to reproduce:

What happens?: clicking on the image will go to the file page instead of opening it in MediaViewer

What should have happened instead?: the image should appear in the MediaViewer by default when click any image

Removing MediaWiki-Configuration as this is not related to MediaWiki Core's configuration options, but to some website's configuration instead.

  1. Firefox 92, I am logged in on Wikipedia.
  2. I go to https://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Istimewa:Preferensi#mw-prefsection-rendering and make sure Aktifkan Penampil Media is enabled
  3. I go to https://id.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halaman_Utama?debug=true&safemode=1
  4. I click on the image of Aziz Akhannouch
  5. MediaViewer opens, as expected.

Cannot reproduce.

Removing MediaWiki-Configuration as this is not related to MediaWiki Core's configuration options, but to some website's configuration instead.

Turns out this problem was caused by a local gadget that turned off the MediaViewer feature by default for all users, so I'll close this, thanks.
