@Milimetric: Hi, can you help with this one?

Aklapper added a subscriber: EChetty.

@EChetty: Please keep/add valid code project tags such as Data-Engineering-Wikistats which allow finding tasks related to code bases, not to end up in a big unmaintainable pile of only some-team-in-some-organization tasks. Thanks a lot. :)

[Edit: Hmm, maybe Herald rule H126 needs changes? If so, please feel free to file a separate task. Thanks.]

@Nataev: I'm so sorry it took me so long to see this. I'm deploying now with uz as the language code. I wasn't sure which "native name" to use for the Uzbek language, based on the wiki page I'm going with Oʻzbekcha. If you think Ўзбекча is more universally valid and/or useful, please let me know. Another problem is that the number/date formatter we use (numbro) doesn't speak Uzbek. I set it to "en" for now so it has something, but take a look at some of the other languages and see if something else is more appropriate (is Turkish closer than English, for example?)

The update has been merged and will be live within a few minutes.

Hi, @Milimetric! Thank you! Oʻzbekcha is the correct choice, as I've used the Latin script while translating. As for the numbers and dates, could I help translate them? How does numbro work? Another question: I've noticed I need to revise some of the translations. Will the revisions have to be manually deployed or will they come live on their own after a while?

ack, makes sense, thx

Yeah, it doesn't look too bad. So it seems you just go through these steps to define it locally. We could then use it in wikistats. And there's a link there to make an official pull request to make it available to the whole numbro community. We are going to switch to Wikimedia Codex, the new design system, sometime over the next year. I think translations will stay the way they are, but if they change and I somehow forget about your work here, do please feel free to yell at me :)

Another question: I've noticed I need to revise some of the translations. Will the revisions have to be manually deployed or will they come live on their own after a while?

They unfortunately won't deploy automatically. We'll try to deploy more frequently, but if we forget do ping us more directly. You can ask for a deploy in [[ ircs://irc.libera.chat:6697 | IRC ]] in channel #wikimedia-analytics. My nickname there is milimetric as well.

Hi again, @Milimetric! It's me again. Could you please explain to us in more detail how and where we can translate the months into Uzbek? I did ask this question above but since I'm not a programmer and don't know beans about coding, I haven't managed to figure out how to do it. Currently the Wikistats interface looks OK in Uzbek, but the months are still being rendered in English.

Edit: Nevermind, it seems the months are rendered in English in ALL the available languages. Probably there's no easy fix.

@Nataev: hm, that's not good. The date translations come from a different library that's not using translatewiki for translations. But it has some basic internationalization so at least some of the months should be translated. Filed as a bug T336815: Wikistats 2 should translate month names and abbreviations
