Shoulder injury healed

As I was coming down a winding staircase at my daughter’s new house, I looked back over my shoulder to speak to someone and missed a step. Grabbing hard on to the railing to avoid falling, I wrenched my arm and shoulder, and they immediately started throbbing.

My daughter heard the commotion and was concerned I might have hurt myself. I assured her I was OK. After getting to the bottom of the stairs, I affirmed that God, who governs all in complete harmony, wouldn’t and couldn’t cause or allow a mishap or accident. I knew that nothing could separate me from God or make me doubt His omnipresence, and I reasoned that a lie about God’s ever-present care could have no adverse effect on me. 

When I got home, I looked up a helpful statement in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy: “Under divine Providence there can be no accidents, since there is no room for imperfection in perfection” (p. 424).
