This document will guide you through a brief overview of SUSHI. It will also show you how to connect to SUSHI reports for Gale, A Cengage Learning Company.
What is SUSHI?
The Standardized Usage Statistics Harvesting Initiative (SUSHI) Protocol standard defines an automated request and response model for the harvesting of electronic resource usage data utilizing a Web services framework. It is intended to replace the time-consuming, user-mediated collection of usage data reports.

You will need the information below to connect through your SUSHI client:
- Destination (URL) = http://usagereports.galegroup.com/sushi/ws
- Requestor ID (Userid) = Your library's Gale Admin Username
- Customer Reference Name (Password) = Your library's Gale Admin Password
- Customer Reference ID (Where Id) = A prefix and your library's location ID (e.g.,
loc=locationIDorlib=libraryid)- The prefix (e.g.,
loc=) is required.
