Ingram Content Group names Shawn Morin CEO

Ingram Content Group, a Nashville-based global publishing services company, named Shawn Morin CEO and announced that John Ingram will step down from the role but remain company chairman.

Morin joined Ingram as chief information officer in 2009 and climbed the ranks to chief operating officer in 2012 and president in 2015. Under his leadership, Ingram has added new services and technologies, and he has led two acquisitions in recent years and the opening of two new facilities.

“Shawn is a proven leader, well-known across our industry, and he is certainly the right CEO as we write the next chapter in our company’s story,” John Ingram said in a statement. “Ingram has experienced tremendous growth and transformation, particularly over the past few years. Shawn’s leadership, technology and engineering backgrounds, and passion for our business and our clients have helped make this evolution possible.”

Ingram sees dramatic change in publishing industry

As chairman, Ingram will remain involved in strategy and new business development.

“I am inspired each day by the people at Ingram and the clients and customers we serve,” Morin said in a statement. “Serving as our CEO is a great honor. I’m looking forward to continuing to transform and grow our company so it remains relevant in our evolving industry.”

Before joining Ingram, Morin was chief information officer at Bass Pro Shops. He also has an engineering background and worked on flight software at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
