About SCS

It is the mission of the Student Counselling Service of UTT to promote the psychological health and development of all students as this contributes to the attainment of their educational and vocational objectives, their total well-being and responsible community membership.

SCS provides a comprehensive range of professional services within its capabilities that are confidential, accessible, student-focused and collaborative. SCS assists individuals, groups of students and the organisation to better manage the "issues of everyday living" that negatively impact on student psycho-social well-being and academic success.

As a division of the Student Support Services Unit, SCS in order to better facilitate student access to its services has established units on each campus of UTT. These services include assessments, crisis interventions, individual, couple, group and brief therapeutic interventions as well as referral services. SCS also provides consultation to University staff and officials who have concerns about a student.
