Proficiency in Crisis Management and Human Behaviour

(Regulations V/2, paragraph 6 and Section A-V/2, paragraph 3 of the STCW Convention and Code 1978 as amended)

Aim

To give masters, chief engineer officers, chief mates, second engineer officers, qualified deck/engineering/electro technical officers and able seafarers having responsibility for the safety of passengers in emergency situations the essential education and training in crisis management and human behaviour meeting the Knowledge, Understanding and Proficiency (KUP) requirements set out in the following:

Competence: Organise shipboard emergency procedures; Optimise the use of resources; Control response to emergencies; Control passengers and other personnel during emergency situations; Establish and maintain effective communications
