1. PERSONAL SURVIVAL TECHNIQUES UPDATING TRAINING COURSE CRITERIA
Aim
Seafarers qualified in basic training are required, every five years, to provide evidence of having maintained the required standard of competence, to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities associated with personal survival techniques.
The aim of this courses is to give all those seeking updating training certification for personal survival techniques the essential education and training set out in Table A-VI/1-1.
Entry requirements Seafarers must have been previously issued with an MCA ‘PROFICIENCY IN BASIC SAFETY’ certificate or an alternative certificate acceptable to the MCA.
2. FIRE PREVENTION AND FIRE FIGHTING UPDATING TRAINING COURSE CRITERIA
Aim
Seafarers qualified in basic training are required, every five years, to provide evidence of having maintained the required standard of competence, to undertake the tasks, duties and responsibilities associated with fire prevention and fire fighting.
The aim of this course is to give all those seeking updating training certification for fire prevention and fire fighting the essential education and training set out in Table A-VI/1-2.
Entry requirements
Seafarers must have been previously issued with an MCA ‘PROFICIENCY IN BASIC SAFETY’ certificate or an alternative certificate acceptable to the MCA.
