The University of Trinidad and Tobago’s (UTT) Outreach Unit, in collaboration with the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation (CARILEC), delivered remote engagement in competency development for Electrical Energy Solution Providers in the Caribbean region, using its enhanced instructional digital platform.

Dr. Tagore Ramlal, lead facilitator and Assistant Professor, Utilities Engineering,  UTT, led this engagement with engineers of the Montserrat Electricity Corporation, with techniques in Power Plant Operators on the island.  The programme was delivered during the period April 26-30, 2021.

The objective of this engagement was to expose participants to the underpinning theories and best principles in Electrical and Diesel Power Systems in Power Plant Operations.

UTT Outreach previously delivered competency engagements for CARILEC in St. Vincent, Dominica, Tortola, Cayman Island and British Virgin Island with having engaged over one hundred and seventy (175) persons in the Eastern Caribbean.

The University commends its Outreach Unit as it continues to provide competency building and technical knowledge sharing opportunities for industry personnel locally and throughout the Caribbean.
