About Process Management

 'If you can't describe what you are doing as a process, you don’t know what you you’re doing.' - W. Edwards Deming

The Process Management (PM) function of the Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness (QA&IE) focuses on liaising with the owners of processes in the University. The sequence of the steps in these processes is documented. After this, processes are analysed with the ultimate aim being to improve them.

To fulfil this mandate the PM Unit:

  • coordinates initiatives to promote process optimisation for greater organisational effectiveness and efficiency;
  • leads university-wide projects aimed at process improvement; and
  • develops Quality Enhancement Plans (QEPs) based on institutional research reports and quality reviews.

The PM Unit also manages the external review process for QA&IE.
