“Squaresville” was a good place to live Tuesday evening as the Web comedy took three prizes at the Intl. Academy of Web Television awards at the Palazzo Theater in Las Vegas.
At the Web TV Acad’s second annual kudofest, comedies “Squaresville” and “My Gimpy Life” and drama “The Booth at the End, Season 2″ all took multiple awards.
“Squaresville” took top comedy series, best ensemble performance and comedy writing honors for Matt Enlow. Also in comedy, Sean Becker won directing kudos for “My Gimpy Life” and Teal Sherer took female performance. Jeff Lewis took male comedy perf honors for “The Jeff Lewis 5-Minute Comedy Hour.”
“Leap Year” was top drama series while Tina Cesa Ward won the drama directing kudo for “Anyone But Me.” Christopher Kubasik took drama writing for “The Booth at the End, Season 2,” and Xander Berkeley won for male drama performance for the same series. Julia Stiles took female drama perf for “Blue.”

“Daily Grace” was named for hosted taped series, and its host Grace Helbig won for host (taped). “What’s Trending With Shira Lazar” won for hosted live series, and Lazar took host (live) honors. Felicia Day won for writing nonfiction for “The Flog,” while the show’s director Sean Becker took the directing nonfiction kudo.
“Red vs. Blue” won for animated series and supplemental content. The Nerdist Channel was named top online channel.
Bill Maher’s “CrazyStupidPolitics” won for live event. Variety series honors went to “Rhett & Link.” Docu series kudo went to “Prodigies.” Top news series was “The Philip DeFranco Show.” Educational Web series honors went to “Engineer Your Space.”
In tech categories, “The League of S.T.E.A.M.” won for costumes and makeup/special effects, while “H+: The Digital Series” won for vfx and took cinematography gold for Brett Pawlak. For “Continuum,” Eric Whitney won for design and Blake Calhoun won for editing.
More than 470 Web series were submitted for the awards. Winners are chosen by majority vote of the active voting members of the IAWTV. Event was live-streamed, of course.
