American Mathematical Society Journals [Perpetual Access Only]
VIVA's subscription, which ended on 12/31/14, included the Journal of the AMS, Mathematics of Computation, Proceedings of the AMS, and Transactions of the AMS. AMS has provided online access to the perpetual access content associated with the VIVA contract. As content is freely available through 2013, the focus is on the 2014 year. This is a moving wall of access, so eventually all of this content will be freely available.
Annual Reviews Complete Collection

Gale Diversity Bundle Ebooks
The Gale Diversity Bundle ebooks are a custom ebook collection purchased by VIVA in 2021 with the support of SCHEV’s Fund for Excellence and Innovation. The VIVA contract makes this custom collection available to all public institutions, and it included a time-limited option for opt-in private institution participation. Participating private institutions include Eastern Mennonite University, Hampden-Sydney College, Hollins University, Liberty University, Mary Baldwin-University, Randolph-Macon College, Shenandoah University, University of Richmond, and Washington & Lee University. There are no continuing access fees.
Gale: Indigenous Peoples of North America
VIVA purchased Gale’s primary source collection, Indigenous Peoples of North America, in 2021 with the support of SCHEV’s Fund for Excellence and Innovation. The VIVA contract makes this collection available to all public institutions, and had a time-limited option for opt-in private participation as well. Participating private institutions include Eastern Mennonite University, Hampden-Sydney College, Hollins University, Mary Baldwin University, and Regent University. There are no continuing access fees.

HarpWeek
In 1999, VIVA purchased shared access to HarpWeek: The Civil War Era: 1857-1865 for the public and private Pooled Funds institutions that had not previously purchased access, including the Library of Virginia. In 2001, VIVA added the Reconstruction I: 1866-1871 and Reconstruction II: 1872-1877 content for these institutions. VIVA continues to pay an annual access fee out of central funds. Private schools that were not part of the VIVA Pooled Funds program at the time do not have access to HarpWeek: Appalachian College of Pharmacy, Lynchburg College, and Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine.

In 2021, VIVA started a read and publish deal with Rockefeller University Press (RUP) that includes both a content expansion and publication costs. All participants have read access to the three titles: Journal of Cell Biology (VIVA’s shared subscription for many years), Journal of Experimental Medicine, and Journal of General Physiology. Corresponding authors at the participating institutions will be able to publish articles gold open access at no charge. The initial period is for January 1, 2022-December 31, 2023. Kanopy Streaming Media PDA
VIVA conducted a pilot for Kanopy PDA streaming videos in the 2017 calendar year. Following this, institutions can still use the VIVA contract and its discounts.

Literature Resource Center
In 2005, VIVA purchased the Literature Resource Center. There is an annual access fee paid by Central and Pooled Funds. There are a few private Pooled Funds institutions that do not have access: Appalachian School of Law, Divine Mercy University, EVMS, and Emory & Henry College.

Mergent Online, Horizon, and Analytics

Public Broadcasting Service Videos
The VIVA PBS streaming video collection, hosted for VIVA at UVA, includes 498 full-length documentaries representing over 500 hours of video. Titles include documentaries by Ken Burns and series such as American Experience and Frontline.

The VIVA-wide packages for the public institutions are the 2005, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021 packages for Behavioral Science; the 2005, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 packages for Biomedical and Life Science; the 2005, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017 packages for Computer Science (including the Lecture Notes in Computer Science), and the 2005, 2013, and 2014 packages for Earth and Environmental Science. The private Pooled Funds program has been collaboratively purchasing the Behavioral Science collection for the same years as the public institutions. (MIT Press and U of California Press, for example, no longer added new titles to UPSO starting in 2020.) The public institutions also purchased Cornell, Edinburgh, and Princeton for upload dates May 2019 to January 2021. Each purchase year runs from February through January, and titles are released quarterly.
