The Latin American Political Database is the joint project between Georgetown University's Resource Unit on Democratic Governability at the Center for Latin American Studies, the Unit for the Promotion of Democracy of the Organization of American States (OAS), and the Canadian Foundation for the Americas (FOCAL). The Database is sponsored by the Tinker Foundation, the Organization for American States, the Canadian Foundation for the Americas, and Georgetown University.

The database provides documentary and statistical political information on Latin America, including constitutions, electoral laws, legislative and executive branch information and election data. It is our hope that this will serve as a resource for scholars, students, policy makers, governmental officials and political leaders studying democracy in Latin America or seeking to strengthen the functioning of democratic regimes in the region.
