OSI Forum: No Child Left Behind Act
Location: OSI-Baltimore
Event Date(s): June 17, 2003

Baltimore educators and others had the opportunity to learn more about the No Child Left Behind Act and how they could qualify for funding to provide additional academic support, called “Supplemental Services,” in so-called “failing schools” at a forum sponsored by the OSI-Baltimore on June 17. Panelists at the forum included Victoria Wegener from the After School Alliance who offered advice to non-profit organizations attempting to avoid the pitfalls of the sometimes confusing application process, and JoAnne Carter, assistant state superintendent in the Maryland State Department of Education Division of Student and School Services, who presented an overview of Maryland’s guidelines for becoming approved provider of services.
