Research at Sveriges Riksbank

The Research Division at Riksbanken is continuously expanding and employs today 10 Ph.D’s full-time.

Research is conducted in most areas of importance to the central bank, including banking, financial markets, macroeconomics and monetary policy. Two of the major projects at present are information-sharing and monitoring in multiple-bank relationships, and the derivation and estimation of a dynamic general equilibrium model of the Swedish economy.

Our research is published in the Riksbank working paper series and often in peer-reviewed journals. Recent articles of Riksbank staff have appeared in the American Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, and the Journal of Banking and Finance.

The department hosts an international-oriented seminar series, and has mutual visiting programs with the Federal Reserve Banks in Cleveland and Philadelphia. We work actively together with the universities in Stockholm and Uppsala in terms of courses, student tutoring, and joint research projects.
