The task of the division is to promote a safe, efficient financial infrastructure. A key part of the work focuses on evaluating the risks in and efficiency of the financial infrastructure, mainly the different clearing and settlement systems in the Swedish market, but also payment instruments and financial markets. The division also draws up background material and participates in the preparation of matters relating to developments in the financial infrastructure in Sweden and abroad.
The division’s work involves both in-depth analyses and shorter tasks. The results of its efforts are reported mainly in the Financial Stability Report but also in the form of articles in other Riksbank publications. In addition the division cooperates extensively with other central banks, other relevant Swedish authorities and market participants.
Organisation
The Division for Financial Infrastructure Analysis has eight employees and is headed by Sophie Degenne.
