The Market Operations and Analysis Division

The Market Operations and Analysis Division is responsible for implementing monetary and exchange rate policy operations in accordance with monetary policy decisions. The division also has the task of buying and selling foreign currency with the aim of maintaining the Bank’s predetermined currency allocation in the foreign exchange reserve and with a view to taking certain limited active currency positions. Furthermore, the division is responsible for analysing regularly market developments and the structure of the financial markets and for the practical implementation of market operations. Besides trading and analysis, the division compiles and publishes on a daily and/or monthly basis statistics regarding market interest rates, exchange rates and turnover in the fixed income and foreign exchange markets.
