FIVB Instructor Brian Minikin has been in Tuvalu for the past 7 Days to conduct a FIVB Sports Aid Program Course for young players.

The course was well attended by 30 participants covering everything from basic skill acquisition to General Club administration.

Rain unfortunately cut short some of the practical sessions but overall the Course was a great success. It is hoped that a follow up will be held sometime next year as the Tuvalu teams prepare for the Oceania Championships in Samoa

Tuvalu Inter-Primary & Secondary School games have just been held with the opening of new Tuvalu Sports Ground. The event kicked off on May 1st with a combined church service for 9 primary schools and the only 2 secondary schools in Tuvalu. More then 1,000 school children and officialis attended the event which was officially opened on May 2 by the Prime Minister Hon. Maatia Toafa.

The event took place in the Capital (Funafuti) for the first time ever in the history of sports in Tuvalu.

Albert Miller & Jioji Liga from Fiji assisted in the running of the 4 day event. their attendance as Technical Officials was sponsored by ONOC.
Robert and Rogge
Robert Meets IOC President
Secretary General of the TASA, Robert Laupula was invited to Brisbane to attend the ONOC AGM for 2005 and meet personally with IOC President Dr Jacques Rogge.

During this time he was able to brief the President on the aspirations of Tuvalu to join the Olympic Family.

Provided everything is in order Tuvalu should be admitted to the Olympic Movement at the 2007 IOC Session.
