The task of the division is to promote a safe and efficient financial infrastructure. A key part of the work focuses on evaluating the risks in and efficiency of the financial infrastructure, mainly the different clearing and settlement systems in the Swedish market, but also payment instruments and financial markets.
The division also draws up background material and participates in the preparation of matters relating to developments in the financial infrastructure in Sweden as well as internationally. The division’s work involves both in-depth analyses and shorter-term tasks. In addition, the division cooperates extensively with other central banks, other Swedish authorities and market participants. The results of its efforts are presented mainly in the Financial Stability Report but also in the form of articles in other Riksbank publications.

The Financial Infrastructure Division has eight employees and is headed by Sophie Degenne.
