Dancers at the Tropicana, Havana
This photo gallery is a visual diary of our July 2001 trip to Havana, Cuba. While visiting Havana to conduct research, we managed to take around 10 rolls of 35mm film. The highlights of those photos can be found here. We've divided the gallery into different themes that explore Havana's people and places, from its classic American cars to its legendary Tropicana nightclub. We hope you enjoy these photos.

About the photographers: Andy Carvin (acarvin@benton.org) is Senior Associate at the Benton Foundation. Susanne Cornwall (scornwal@ngs.org) is Associate Producer at National Geographic Channels International.

Above Picture: The Tropicana nightclub is world famous for its glitzy late-night show, Paradise Under the Stars. This picture shows several of the Tropicana's 200 performers strutting the stage during the 90-minute show.
