Euro

Sweden has decided, through a referendum held in September 2003, to retain the Swedish krona as its currency and not replace it with the euro. However, as an EU member state, Sweden has an obligation to participate in combating counterfeit banknotes and coins in euro. Morever, the euro is increasingly accepted as a means of payment in the retail trade in Sweden.
