Legal Secretariat

The Legal Secretariat (RÄT) is responsible for providing legal advice and support to the General Council, the Executive Board and the departments, as well as participating in, and contributing to, the establishment of necessary regulations and agreements.


The Secretariat is responsible for ensuring that the rules, regulations and agreements that form the basis of the Riksbank’s activities are of a high standard and that they are amended in conjunction with changes in the conditions for the Bank's activities.  A further task is to work actively to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations. The Secretariat is also responsible for maintaining adequate knowledge of the rules that apply to public procurement.


Organisation

The Secretariat consists of six lawyers. Per Håkansson is head of the Secretariat and the Riksbank’s Chief Legal Counsellor.
