ATMs / Credit Cards

Where can I get money at the RBC Center?  Are credit cards accepted?

Automated Teller Machines are located adjacent to Sections 111 and 127 on the Main Concourse, in the Dogdge Box Office lobby and Section 334 on the Upper Concourse.

Visa, Mastercard, and American Express are accepted at the Arena Club Restaurant, the Dodge Box Office, all locations of The Eye, and for In-Seat Service on the Club Level.

Backstage Passes

How do I obtain a backstage pass for an upcoming concert?

Backstage passes are not available for sale.  As they are very limited in number, passes are usually only provided by artist management or fan clubs to select recipients.  On occasion, local radio stations will also hold contests in which listeners can win backstage passes for upcoming shows.

RBC Center personnel cannot give or sell backstage passes and are prohibited from giving out any tour personnel information.

Birthday Announcements

How do I have a birthday or anniversary announced at a Hurricanes game?

All birthday or anniversary announcements and/or parties are arranged through the Hurricanes' mascot, Stormy.  Please call 919.861.5435 or E-mail stormy@caneshockey.com to book packages from a full Stormy Birthday Bash to a birthday or anniversary greeting only.  Announcement space is limited and arrangements should be made well in advance.  The cost for Jumbotron greetings is $30.

Generally, birthday greetings are not done at other events.

Donation Requests

Does the RBC Center donate tickets or other items to charity?

Requests for tickets or other items should be made in writing on official charitable or non-profit organization letterhead to the Community Relations Department.  Letters are then forwarded to the promoter for the specific show requested.  For donations of Hurricanes items, requests are processed through the Hurricanes Community Relations Department.

Please send donation requests to:
Community Relations Department, RBC Center,
1400 Edwards Mill Road, Raleigh, NC  27607
Or by fax - RBC Center: 919.861.6214 / Hurricanes: 919.861.6147

Unfortunately, not all requests are able to be fulfilled; however, group discounts are often available.

Flags in the arena bowl

Why do the flags in the arena bowl (USA, Canada, North Carolina) appear to be hanging backwards?

According to US Code, the following applies to the interior of the building:

(o) When the flag is suspended across a corridor or lobby in a building with only one main entrance, it should be suspended vertically with the union of the flag to the observer's left upon entering.  If the building has more than one main entrance, the flag should be suspended vertically near the center of the corridor or lobby with the union to the north, when entrances are to the east and west or to the east when entrances are to the north and south.  If there are entrances in more than two directions, the union should be to the east.

For more information, the Flag Code contains interesting information regarding the display and use of flags by civilians and conduct when the National Anthem is performed.

Food & Beverage Options

What food vendors are found at the RBC Center?

The RBC Center provides a wide variety of food options including Goodberry's, Hardees, Vincent's Sausages, pizza, subs, and much more.  For the complete selection, please see the full concession stand menus.

General Admission (GA) Tickets

I purchased tickets for a concert that are marked "General Admission."  What does that mean?

General Admission means that there are no assigned seats.  Seating is obtained on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Doors open for most events one hour prior to the scheduled start time, at which time patrons can enter the building and chose their seat.

GA Tickets marked "Floor" are for the standing room area on the open floor.

    Lottery System for Ticket On-Sales

How does the lottery system used by the RBC Center for concert ticket sales work?

The lottery system in place at the RBC Center begins one hour prior to a concert or show on-sale.  Everyone in line at the Dodge Box Office one hour before opening is given a number.  A number is then randomly drawn, and the person holding that number becomes the first person to purchase tickets for the show.  The rest of the line forms numerically behind the number drawn.  For example, if five numbers are distributed, and #3 is drawn, the line formed would be 3-4-5-1-2.

Anyone arriving at the Dodge Box Office after numbers are distributed can purchase their tickets after all lottery members have been helped.

    What does RBC stand for?
The Royal Bank of Canada recently purchased Centura bank, a bank in the southeastern US.  The new bank is named RBC Centura, which is based out of North Carolina.  They have partnered with our building to call it the RBC Center.  For more information, visit their websites: RBC Centura or RBC Financial.

    Rules & Regulations

What can I bring to an RBC Center event?  What are the rules?

Patron comfort and security at events are of the utmost importance to the management of the RBC Center.  For this reason, a complete list of the rules and Regulations currently in place at the RBC Center is provided on the Regulations page.  Included on this page is information on which items are or are not permitted inside the center.

What is the cost of and is RV overnight parking allowed?

Here are the prices for parking:

    Automobiles  $8.00
    RV/Limo       $16.00 (no overnight parking)
Bus              $21.00 (larger than 15 passenger vans)

There is an area for RV's to park, but there are no hook-ups, only parking spots.  There is NO overnight parking.

    Schedule of Events

Does the RBC Center have a schedule of upcoming events?

The most convenient way to be notified about events at the RBC Center is through the E-Mail Club.  Members receive periodic newsletters and are among the first notified when new shows are scheduled.  Additionally, members receive special offers and the chance to win prizes form our weekly drawings.

An Events Calendar is also available on the website.

    Smoking

    Is smoking permitted?

The RBC Center is a smoke-free facility.  Designated smoking areas are available outside the building at Sections 108 and 115.

    Songs Played During Games

Can someone send me a list of the music played during games?

Unfortunately, there is no set list as the music varies from game to game.  The RBC Center's In-Game Entertainment staff chooses songs from a large computer database and plays whatever seems appropriate for the game at hand.

    Sound Levels

Why does the music at games sometimes sound loud and sometimes sound normal?

Music played in the RBC Center during hockey, basketball, and football games is monitored by a sound meter.  Sound levels vary due to the shape and design of the building; levels are about 10 decibels higher on the Upper Level than they are on the Club or Lower levels.

Sound levels are monitored throughout all games to ensure adequate quality and volume for all patrons.  Guests with sensitive ears may find they are more comfortable with seats in the Lower Level for most sporting events.

    Temperature at Hockey Games

How cold is it in the RBC Center?  What should I wear to a hockey game?

During hockey games, a building temperature of 63 degrees (F) is maintained to keep a suitable ice surface for play.  For other events where the ice is covered with an insulated sub-floor, building temperature is usually 68-70 degrees.

Many hockey fans have found the best manner of dress to be layered clothing.

    Ticket Purchasing Locations

Tickets to most events are available at the RBC Center Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations which include Hechts Department Stores and For Your Entertainment (FYE) Stores.  Go to the Customer Service counter at either store.  Or call TM at 919.834.4000, or online via RBCcenter.com.

Please note that ticket prices listed do not include Ticketmaster service charges, which vary based on the price of the ticket.  There are no additional charges on tickets purchased at the RBC Center Box Office.
