Welcome to Brå

The Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention (Brottsförebyggande rådet - Brå) functions as the Swedish Government’s body of expertise within the judical system.

The Swedish National Council for Crime Prevention works to reduce crime and improve levels of safety in society by producing data and disseminating knowledge on crime and crime prevention work.

The Council also produces Sweden’s official crime statistics, evaluates reforms, conducts research to develop new knowledge and provides support to local crime prevention work.

Swedish Crime Barometer

The Swedish Crime Barometer shows the total accumulated number of reported crimes January-October 2006, as well as various selected crime categories and the percentage change compared to the previous year. The Swedish Crime Barometer is updated every month.
