Scholarship named in honor of late Reserve Airman
MCGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE, N.J. -- The memory of one Reserve Airman at McGuire Air Force Base will live on in her unit, the 514th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron, through a scholarship instituted in her name.
Dec. 19, Tech. Sgt. Lenthel Drachler became the first recipient of the Senior Master Sgt. Tracy P. Tyler Memorial Scholarship. His selection was announced during the squadron's commander's call.

Portland pararescue unit assists in Mt Hood search
Portland, Ore. -- Reservists from the 304th Rescue Squadron here team up again on Dec. 17 with Air National Guardsmen from Nevada in hopes of finding three missing hikers lost on Mt. Hood more than a week ago.
"This was our first opportunity to see the top of the mountain because of the poor weather and extreme conditions," said Capt. Ross Willson, a combat rescue officer assigned to the Air Force Reserve's 304th RQS.

Air Force Reserve announces new C-5 ISO inspection site
ROBINS AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. -- Air Force Reserve Command announced on Dec. 13 that Westover Air Reserve Base, Mass., will perform C-5 cargo aircraft isochronal inspections in the future.
ISO inspections are thorough examinations of the entire aircraft. During these inspections, aircraft maintainers look for and repair problems in every system, from nose to tail and wingtip to wingtip.

Air Force Reserve rescuers join search for Mount Hood climbers
DAVIS-MONTHAN AIR FORCE BASE, Ariz. -- A team of pararescuers from the 943rd Rescue Group's 304th Rescue Squadron are deployed to Mount Hood, Ore., to assist in ongoing rescue efforts there.
The 304th RQS pararescuers are stationed at Portland International Airport, Ore., as a detached squadron of Air Force Reserve Command's 943rd Rescue Group, which is based here.

Reservists deliver specialized team to support burn victims
MCCHORD AIR FORCE BASE, Wash. -- It's like a page from a script right out of a Hollywood movie. A McChord AFB C-17 aircraft was diverted Dec. 1 to fly a nine-member Army Burn Center Flight Team from Lackland AFB, Texas, to Hickam AFB, Hawaii, to care for six Navy Sailors with burn injuries.
