Increased savings in the Swedish economy during third quarter 2006
Preliminary accounts for the third quarter of 2006 show increased savings in the Swedish economy. Savings increased by a total of SEK 17 billon compared to the same quarter in 2005. Total savings amounted to SEK 75 billion in the third quarter of 2006. The business sector and the public sector showed increasing savings, SEK 18 and 2 billion respectively. The household sector showed decreasing savings by SEK 3 billion.

New registrations of passenger cars and lorries in Sweden, December
The number of new cars (first registration) totalled 25 672 in December 2006. This is a decrease of 3.0 percent compared to December 2005, when 26 456 new cars were registered.

Labour Cost Index up 2.6 percent for wage-earners and 2.4 percent for salaried employees
The Labour Cost Index for the private sector in October 2006 was 156.3 for wage-earners and 173.4 for salaried employees. Compared to October 2005, labour costs have increased by 2.6 percent for wage-earners and by 2.4 percent for salaried employees.
