CNO’s 2007 Guidance Focuses on Execution
WASHINGTON (NNS) -- Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Mike Mullen released his annual guidance Feb. 2, calling for the Navy to follow-through and rapidly execute on "every plan, budget decision, strategy and policy we devise" to better defend our nation and our national interests.

Outstanding Food Service Ney Award Winners Named
MECHANICSBURG, Pa. (NNS) -- Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) Donald C. Winter announced the 2007 winners of the Captain Edward F. Ney Memorial Awards for Outstanding Food Service on Feb. 2.

First-place winners will be recognized during the Joint Military and International Food Service Executives Association (IFSEA) awards presentation March 31 in Kansas City, Mo., which celebrates the 50th ceremony of the food service excellence awards.

CNO Signs Diversity Policy, Stresses Connection to Mission Accomplishment
WASHINGTON (NNS) -- Reemphasizing his strong position on the importance of a diverse workforce to the Navy’s readiness in the war on terrorism, Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Mike Mullen released the Navy’s official Diversity Policy on Jan. 30.

“We defend the greatest nation in the world,” Mullen stated in the one-page document. “The strength of our diversity directly and irrefutably helps us do so. The Navy will stay committed to improving that strength.”
