Greek Life on Campus

Though Greek life isn't as prevalent at Chicago as it may be at other campuses, it's quite important to nearly 1 in 10 students here. The fraternities and sororities to which Chicago students belong operate as independent organizations within the Hyde Park community, working closely with their alumni boards and national offices. Some students join the Greek system, others just take advantage of the social programs, and then there are those who think that Greek refers to the philosopher they are studying in their humanities class. Those who seek it will find vibrant and friendly sororities and fraternities that create strong community among their members and participate in a variety of community service and social activities on and off campus.

There are 3 sororities and 10 fraternities on campus. Click on the links to the left to learn more about the individual chapters. The chapters are listed in alphabetical order with the sororities listed first.
