Britannica collects Personal Information during email and newsletter registration, store purchases, and other user registration processes. In addition, Britannica collects Personal Information from Britannica.com.au users in the form of usage data (for example, length of session, pages viewed, etc.) for use as provided in below.
Britannica uses Personal Information for: developing enhancements to Britannica.com.au; marketing and promotional purposes (for example, offering Britannica.com.au users the opportunity to take advantage of special promotions and acquire Britannica products); and evaluating Britannica.com.au usage by analysing usage data in the aggregate, but not with respect to any individual Britannica.com.au user. In addition, Britannica uses Personal Information to direct: email to Britannica.com.au. Users who provide their email address in connection with specific promotions (for example, receiving notice of winning a Britannica contest); email regarding Britannica.com.au updates either during the Britannica.com.au subscription process or afterwards; and postal mail to Britannica.com.au users containing new registration packets and periodic newsletters.
