The task of the Division for Market Analysis and operations is to analyse developments in the financial markets. An important aspect of this work is to regularly monitor and report on events in the financial markets in Sweden and abroad. Another important aspect is to analyse the functioning of the financial markets through studies and comprehensive projects, where the focus lies on both developments in financial prices (interest rates, exchange rates, equity prices, and prices of derivatives and other assets) and financial quantities (money supply and credit volume). The division also analyses and evaluates market reactions to monetary and exchange rate policy measures, provides analytical support for forecasts of interest rates, exchange rates and equity market developments, and surveys the most important channels in the transmission mechanism.

The Division for Market Analysis and operations consists of nine persons and is headed by Karolina Holmberg.
